Is the medicine im taking causing my blood sugar to go this high?

Any stress on the body can cause your blood sugar to be higher than usual. Some meds can do the same thing, though. If your blood sugar is not back to normal by the time you are well, you should check with your endocrinologist. I have been a diabetic for almost 25 years, and my blood sugar is always higher than usual when I am sick. You should continue to take your meds as ordered by the doctor. You could call your pharmacist and ask if any of the meds you are on could cause your blood sugar to be high. But I bet it's high because you are sick. Just rest, drink plenty of fluids (sugar free of course) and check with your doctor if it's not back to normal in a few days.
