How do i get his attention?

ok im super infatuated with this guy who lives in my neighborhood. its so bad, if i want to move on i cant, because before i give some other guy a chance i wanna give him one first. test the waters with him to see if my infatuation will turn into liking him or just not caring. its really hard cuz ive been infatuated for months. ive gone a whole summer without seeing him and i still think about him. its weird cuz you'd think i would move on so easily. anyways, i talk to my friends about him and they tell me i should take the risk. and i want to so badly, but im so scared of the rejection. i want him to take the risk, so how can i give him body language to hint to him that im interested ? btw im 16 and hes 17.
