In Bali, and decided to make a jump over to Darwin, Australia.. good idea?

My boyfriend and I have been travelling for two months and are in Bali and our original plan was to head over to india after here, but its just not in our budget anymore.. we are thinking about heading to Darwin for 2 weeks before back to Bangkok to head home to Canada. is Darwin and interesting place? anything to really see and do? is it worth it to head over there? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because we are leaving in 6 days! (visa runs out) thanks!
